christian science nursing

This holistic nursing is based on the concepts of Christian Science  It offers spiritual reassurance and understanding, and skilful non-medical physical care-giving.  The patient is always treated with the utmost dignity, respect and patience.  It is an integral part of the Christian Science Church, having its roots in the by-law Christian Science Nurse in The Manual of The Mother Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist by Mary Baker Eddy:

A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sickroom, and who can take proper care of the sick.

A Christian Science nurse would work along side a Christian Science Practitioner who is giving prayerful-treatment.
